I've always been fascinated by symbolism, mythology, and archetypes. Our ways of viewing the world have so many nuances and subconscious references that I consider each image as a visual message that is decoded in the privacy of the viewer's inner landscape.
While I enjoy detailed representational work, I feel most fulfilled by the symbolic translation of my own experiences, both physical and spiritual.
I enjoy playing with a variety of media, but mostly:
- Colored pencil
- Oil
- Acrylic
I'm also a budding web designer! This page is my guinea pig and is always under construction (as is the road to success, or so I hear). Visit my Gallery page for links to my other projects.
I've had the opportunity to work with a number of artists who have given me technical skills, inspiring theories and ideas, and personal guidance and support:
Also, Kathleen Scott (sumi painting), Lois Schroff (veil watercolor painting) and Dennis Crabapple McClain (science fiction illustration).
